Gunnoe Media Group was founded in 2013 for the purpose of organizing photo experiences for railroad enthusiasts and serious photographers. Based in West Virginia, Gunnoe has hosted or helped organize more than 25 rail photography charters, including experiences on the Cass Scenic, South Branch Valley, Durbin & Greenbrier Valley, and Western Maryland Scenic railroads, as well at Train Festival 2011 and several notable events at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. Today, Gunnoe focuses on three to four annual events focused around providing unique access to participating railroads and uniquely-themed events that focus on re-creating mid-20th century freight railroading.
